August 25-September 25, 2023

Wednesdays 2:00-8:00
Thursdays 2:00-6:00
Fridays 2:00-6:00
Saturdays 11:00-2:00

Pressure Makes Diamonds is an exploration of diamonds through the lenses of science, history, and culture — and unearths the “Diamonds” of North Lawndale.

Pressure Makes Diamonds is the final product of the [Your Exhibit Here] cohort, which has spent the summer visiting museums, learning about curation, and creating this exhibit.

About [Your Exhibit Here]

[Your Exhibit Here] is a collaborative project to create an exhibit at the Lawndale Pop-Up Spot from scratch. A cohort of 12 adults are working together for 10 weeks from late June through August to learn about exhibition concepts, brainstorm an exhibition topic, go on field trips to other museums, research and develop the exhibit, and install it for September.

The exhibition cohort will incorporate feedback from the community to help determine the exhibit and its contents, and activate it once it’s installed.
